We’ve all heard the benefits of building a client-side app in JavaScript that talks to a server-side REST API. But often this approach introduces a lot of accidental complexity, without really delivering the gains. How can you get the best of both worlds? In this talk, I’ll show how to get the simplicity of server-side rendering with the architectural and performance improvements of an SPA.

How does he say

"keep your templates simple",
"don't do too much business logic in Twig",
"don't chain calls",
"don't chain filters",
"just do it in PHP",

and then a minute later switches to PHP and says

"loosly couple your controllers to templates",
"don't inject too much stuff in the template",
"if you need extra data in the template – go and get it in the template"

? 🤯

Hey @Andrey

Yea, it sounds contradictory, but it may be his way to say keep a balance between the code in your controllers and template. By the way, don't worry about that too much, there's a new way to decouple your templates from PHP code. Its name is "Twig Components" they are so powerful! Ryan demonstrates how to work with them in this tutorial https://symfonycasts.com/screencast/last-stack
